Welcome to Bulgaria, the country where people shake their heads to mean yes and nod for no. The first motorbike ride takes us to Edirne. Edirne’s main highlight is Selimiye Mosque. Must be mentioned that the mosque was built by the famous architect Mimar Sinan. The work was commissioned by Selim II, son of Suleyman the Magnificent. In conclusion, Selimiye Mosque is a masterpiece and a great example of Islamic Architecture.

Remembering the heroes

ANZAC Cove
ANZAC COVE – Gallipoli Peninsula

Dardanelles Strait, separating Asian Turkey from European Turkey is the next motorbike ride. Of course, our destination is Anzac Cove. This Cove on the Gallipoli peninsula is the site of World War I landing of the ANZACs. The beach became the main base for the Australian and NZ troops during the Gallipoli campaign. Therefore, cemeteries and Memorials were erected on both European and Asian Banks of the Dardanelles.

Memorials and Cemeteries at Lone Pine, Ari Burnu and Chunuk Bair are just a few of the gravesites dedicated to the casualties of the war.

Legendary sites

After ANZAC Cove the ride continues to Canakkale. While enjoying a short ferry ride across Dardanelles Strait we will be accompanied by seagulls. As we cross the strait and approach the Asian Banks, a huge wooden creature will catch our eyes.  The wooden horse used in 2004 movie Troy is now on display in Canakkale. The real archaeological site of Troy is just 30 km away. Troy has 4,000 years of history and is one of the most famous archaeological sites in the World. The site was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1998. With this in mind we will take a walk on the alleyways of Troy. Follow the footsteps of the most beautiful woman in the World – Helen of Troy. Also, remember heroes such as: Achilles, Paris or Agamemnon and revive the legend.

We will spend the night in Izmir only to follow the road the next day in search of more legends.

Ancient city of Ephesus

Great monuments of the Roman Imperial period can be found here. To enumerate just a few: Library of Celsus and the Great Theatre. Also, remains of the famous Temple of Artemis, one of the “Seven Wonders of the World” attracts visitors all over the World.

Finally, after visiting historical and legendary places, we will enjoy a rest day in beautiful Pamukkale. Pamukkale offers relaxation in thermal waters, natural swimming pools or a visit to the Archaeological site of Hierapolis.

Visit Konya – the city of the famous Whirling Dervishes, love and tolerance.

Fairy Chimneys and Underground Cities

From Konia the road takes us on Ihlara Valley to Cappadocia – a region with exceptional natural wonders, characterized by fairy chimneys and a unique historical and cultural heritage. On the way to Goreme we will stop at Derinkuyu. Derinkuyu Underground City is the largest of its king in Turkey. Laid on 8 floors and reaching a depth of about 60 m, the underground city would provide its 20 000 inhabitants with air vents, kitchen, living quarters, animal shelters, cemeteries and everything else they needed to survive. Moreover, a 9 km underground tunnel was dug. This makes the connection with Kaimakli Underground City. The tunnel had the purpose to evacuate the inhabitants in case of invasion.

Capadochia Balloon flight
Hot Air Balloon Ride in Cappadocia

Seeing the region from a hot Air Balloon Ride is one of the highlights of the trip. The view over the fairy chimneys of Cappadocia from a hot air Balloon at sunrise is breathtaking. After Cappadocia we will head to the capital city of Turkey. Ankara is Turkey’s second largest city after Istanbul. It became the new Turkish capital upon the establishment of the Republic on 1923. Large crowds visit Anıtkabir, the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in Ankara, during national holidays. Most importantly, entering the site is like checking in at the Airport. The authorities check everything to make it a safe, pleasant visit.

From the Central Anatolia we follow the road to the Black Sea. The Black Sea Coast offers many motorcycle roads to ride. On or off road, The Black Sea Coast is a paradise for motorcycle riders.

Back in Europe

It’s time to leave Asia behind. We will cross Bosphorus Strait and reach the imperial city of Istanbul.  In conclusion, we are on Europe Land again, but still in Turkey.

Istanbul is one of the greatest cities in the World. A fascinating city built on two continents and divided by Bosphrus Strait. Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, the tombs of the princes and a shopping session in the Old Bazar of Istanbul are just a few attractions to fill the day.

Finally, the perfect way to end the day in in this vibrant city is a Bosphorus Boat Cruise. The ride includes traditional cuisine, belly dancing and traditional Turkish dances. Above all, the amazing views of both Asian and European banks of the Bosphorus will impress.
